Be it enacted by the Governor of Hongkong, with

the advice and consent of the Legislative Council

thereef, ss follows:-

short title.

1.

This Ordinance may be sited as the Alien

Missionary Ordinance, 1922.

Interpretation. 2.

Members of recognised

societies.

Members of unrecognised Societies.

In this Ordinance a recognised society means a Christian society er organisation which the Governor in Council shall by order have declared to be a recognised society for the purposes of the Ordinance.

3. (1). Every missionary or mplsyss er member of a recognized society, who is not a British subject, shall before he commences er centimes my missionary, educational or other philanthropic work in the Colony trammit to the Colonial Secretary a domument of guarantee in the form prescribed by the responsible authority of the religious community to which such person balongs: Provided that pending the receipt of suela document of garantes the Colonial Secretary my grant temporary permit to any moh person enabling

to commence er contime his work in the Colony. (2), lny such permit may be in the fem provided

in the Schedule.

4. (1). No person who is not a missionary or employee

or member of a recognised society shall edemence or
